Zombo Brings Nostalgia and a Reason to Dance in The Alley.

Zombo rocked out through the decades on the Bud Light Stage with some of the most memorable hits from the time, and possibly some of the most forgotten when it comes to bands covering them. From Guns n Roses to Eagle Eye Cherry to Fine Young Cannibals - these sets were far more enjoyable than predictable. I'd also wager that Zombo caused the most people to get out of their seats and start dancing out of all of the Bands we have had at Amp the Alley! I've never measured, but they certainly are in the running. Men women and Children were jumping all around, song after song, after song. Even the little ones were embracing the Rock n Roll!

Speaking of kids and rocking out, I've got to give a shout out to the Bassist, Michael Ball's son. This little dude hopped up to Steve's drum kit and laid it down for some Guns n Roses! It was freaking awesome. All while wearing a shirt that says, "I destroy Silence"! Freaking awesome. Just a cool moment for a father and his son, and a cool moment for music as a whole. This lil guy just hopped up and played a hard song in front of a huge crowd! RESPECT lil DUDE! Don't quote me on this one, but I'm pretty sure they said he is 10 years old!

It worked out for lead singer Shawn Woodward and his son, Ian, who seems to have found his permanent spot on the keys backing up his dad. It's cool to see the generations of great musicians forming right in front of us.

I said I wasn't sure last week, but I was technically right twice! Brian Gibson did show up as a spectator, but then he strapped on Michael's bass and sat in on some songs too. You never know who you might see with you when you are catching live music in the CSRA!

This Week on the Bud Light Stage - Shep and Jeff!

Jason Sheppard and Jeff Johnston are back at Amp! They are long time friends, music collaborators, and Amp Alum. Shep is one of the corner stones that keeps Amp going.

I love finding videos for y'all, but honestly I'm laughing to myself right now. Here is a 15 year old video I found, and in fairness, it does have both Shep and Jeff in it. You also don't have to look too closely to spot the toweing John Kolbeck who was just on the Bud Light Stage with Black Dawg a couple of weeks ago. This video is probably more nostalgic than it is representative of what to expect this Thursday, but enjoy it none the less.
